Indian Constitution Day
In India, Constitution Day which is also known as “Samvidhan Divas”,is celebrated on 26th November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India.
The Preamble to the Constitution of India presents the principles of the Constitution and indicates the sources of its authority.
Preamble declares India to be a sovereign, socialist, secular and democratic republic. It was adopted on 26 November 1949 by the Constituent Assembly and came into effect on 26 January 1950, celebrated as the Republic day in India.


The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment on 19th November 2015 notified the decision of Government of India to celebrate the 26th day of November every year as “Constitution Day” to promote Constitution values among citizens.
