An index is an indicator or measure of something like ranking of different countries. Ranking of all countries are published on the basis of performance of the countries on different parameters for example World Press Freedom Index, Human Capital Index, Climate Change Performance Index, Human Capital Score, World Inequalty Index etc.These rankings are published by different organisations every year.
This section of current gk is very important section part of competitive exams like IAS, SSC, RRB, CPO, KVS, NVS, RPSC, TNSC, MPPSC, UPSC, Railways, Banking and so many other states and central government job entrance exams.
